I’m extremely excited to announce that myself and Aaron G, who has been featured here before, are going to be spending just under a month bike touring in the northern Indian Himalayas. We just booked our flights, and will be heading out mid August. Currently the plan is to ride a variation of the Manali-Leh route, but that could change soon. I’ve already started the process of acquiring new gear for the trip, so look forward to some pictures and reviews.
I also finally ordered a new camera. It’s a Panasonic GF1, a Micro Four Thirds format camera with interchangeable lenses and a very compact size relative to a DSLR, but a larger sensor than a typical point and shoot camera. I’ve been agonizing over this decision for weeks, but just sold a bunch of old gear so decided to pull the trigger. Several other bloggers and tourers that I’ve met are using this camera and nothing but praise for it.
Here are some pics from a ride I did last week in Walnut Creek
Orange and green! The recent wet weather has made the hills beautiful!
Mama cow was scratching her neck on the rocks. She looked like she was enjoying herself!
Sometimes when a bull doesn’t want to let you through the gate, you just have to realize that he’s bigger than you and go around/over.
I like this rock wall formation a lot.

D-Mo, you got to watch out for the Goonch while on your trip!!!
